Let's Talk About Parkinson's: How Can Speech and Language Pathologists Deliver the Best Care?

This course is designed for Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs) who deliver care to people with Parkinson's throughout all disease stages. Parkinson's affects not only speech, voice and swallowing, but also the gestures and facial expressions that are critical to communication. We're looking to further educate SLPs to examine the complexities that Parkinson's has on vocalization and swallow behaviors and explore how anti-Parkinson's medications influence complex sensorimotor enrichment outcomes. The course was designed by the Parkinson’s Foundation in collaboration with American Congress of Rehabilitation (ACRM) in 2017.

This five-module course provides practical, evidence-based knowledge across the continuum of Parkinson’s care (from diagnosis to advanced PD) to help speech and language pathologists evaluate and treat individuals with optimal care.
