Learn best-care Parkinson's disease (PD) knowledge while earning continuing education unit (CEU) credits through various Parkinson's Foundation expert online training courses.

Occupational Therapy Course

Designed by PD occupational therapy experts, the four-module online Occupational Therapy: Across the Parkinson's Disease Continuum course teaches best care practices.

The modules provide occupational therapists with practical, evidence-based knowledge across the continuum of Parkinson’s care (from diagnosis to advanced PD) to help practitioners evaluate and treat individuals in all settings — including in-home care, community rehabilitation and long-term care practice settings.

If you do not need to earn credit for this course: You may view it at no cost through www.parkinson.org.

If you do want credit for this course: You must view the course through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Learning Library for a small fee. Participants who view each of the four courses and take the respective tests through the AOTA website can earn up to 0.7 AOTA CEUs / 7 contact hours / 8.75 National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy professional development units

Physical Therapy Course 

The Parkinson's Foundation invites physical therapists to join us for Parkinson's Disease: A Practical Approach to Evaluation and Treatment for the Physical Therapist, a four-module online course designed by expert physical therapists in the PD field to help fellow physical therapists better understand how to evaluate, treat and deliver comprehensive Parkinson's care. This course provides practical, evidence-based knowledge on effectively assessing and treating individuals with Parkinson's. Participants can earn 0.8 CEUs.

Participants can view each of the four modules and take the respective tests necessary for credit separately over the course of a year.

Nursing Course

The Parkinson's Foundation invites nurses to join more than 10,000 others in taking its online course, Parkinson's Disease Across the Lifespan: A Roadmap for Nurses. Designed by nurses for nurses, the online course provides the latest in current treatment and care strategies. 

Participants can watch each of the four free modules, and take the respective tests, separately or all at one time.

Let's Talk About Parkinson's: How Can Speech and Language Pathologists Deliver the Best Care? October 28, Atlanta, GA

Designed by expert speech and language pathologists in the PD field, this course helps other speech and language pathologists improve care for people with Parkinson's. The Parkinson's Foundation collaboratively developed the course with the American Congress of Rehabilitation. It will launch live at the congress's conference. Continuing medical education or continuing education unit credits are available.
