    Moving Day is more than just a walk. It raises awareness and funds to improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease and advance toward a cure.  This inspiring event brings together people of all ages and abilities for family-friendly fun and activities.  Moving Day highlights movement and exercise as symbols of hope and progress because of their essential role in treating Parkinson’s disease.   • Bank of America Chicago Marathon

    Fundraising Commitment: $1,500

    The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is known for its flat and fast course that travels through one of the world’s most magnificent cities. You will enjoy the support of 1.7 million spectators while running through 29 neighborhoods. When you run with Parkinson's Champions you will be running one of the largest marathons in the country to achieve a personal goal. But for the 1 million Americans living with Parkinson's disease, it means so much more.

  • Edmond J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Program

    Are you a nurse educator? Apply to The Edmond J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Program at the Parkinson’s Foundation to help us prepare the next generation of nurses to care for the growing population of people with Parkinson’s disease (PD).

    The 40-hour accredited train the trainer Nurse Faculty Program improves PD nursing care by training faculty leaders across the U.S. to educate nursing students.

    Nurses are critical to Parkinson's care. Considering the growing number of people living with Parkinson's and the shortage of neurologists specializing in the disease, it is pressing that we prepare nurses to treat Parkinson's. 

    To date the program has trained nearly 220 nurses who in turn train 20,000 nursing students each year to meet this need.
