NPF Mourns the Loss of Longtime Friend, Dick Clark

Release date: 4/19/2012

NPF mourns the loss of Dick Clark, a longtime friend of the Foundation. Dick, whose father had Parkinson's disease, had for many years hosted NPF's annual Gala in Miami with his wife Kari. They became personal friends of NPF's Chairman Emeritus, Nathan Slewett, as well as past-Chairman Paul Oreffice and his wife Jo Ann Pepper Oreffice and current Chairman Dr. Bernie Fogel.

"Dick Clark never failed to come to our Galas until his stroke made it difficult for him to do so. Jo Ann and I were privileged to come to know him and Kari well. He was a true gentleman and truly a one-of a-kind entertainer and human being," said Paul Oreffice, past-Chairman of NPF Board of Directors.

Our condolences to Kari and the family and many friends of this true gentleman.

In lieu of flowers, the Clark family requests that donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation on this special memorial page to Dick Clark.
