International Symposium on REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD)

Release date: 4/18/2011

The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) and Competence Network on Parkinson’s disease (CNP) present the International Symposium on REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD) In Marburg, Germany, 4/29--5/1/11.

There have been many recent developments in our understanding of REM sleep behavior disorder. Because of this, we are now positioned to begin explorations of therapies to treat RBD, considering goals of both managing symptoms and slowing the progression of the condition. This pressing question, as therapeutic development progresses toward the clinical stage, would benefit from a consensus of the researchers who focus on RBD on what they would consider evidence of efficacy. Therefore, the primary goal of this meeting is to arrive at a consensus on what endpoint to target in clinical trials of therapeutics for RBD.
