Corporate and Foundation Relations Associate

The role of the Corporate and Foundation Relations Associate is to establish new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector. The person in this role will be tasked with advancing NPF's interests by proactively seeking opportunities to generate new proposals based on corporate guidelines and interests, researching and identifying sources of support, and maintaining strong communication ties with corporate and foundation donors and prospects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write and develop highly competitive sponsorship and grant proposals for corporate and foundation prospects.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new and existing corporate partnerships.
  • Make initial outreach and schedule face-to-face meetings with prospective corporate donors to discuss NPF program needs- must be comfortable initiating discussions with business professionals at all levels and soliciting support in person and over the phone.
  • Track and report corporate donor prospect activities.
  • Develop creative giving opportunities for corporate donors/prospects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage ongoing communication and reporting to organizational supporters.
  • Develop, implement and document retention strategies.
  • Manage relationship process for individual donors including prospect solicitation, briefings with primary relationship managers.
  • Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve revenue goals.
  • Assist with review and verification of donor recognition lists.
  • Track and report relationship management activity using Raisers Edge including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects and current individual major donors.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience in grant and proposal writing a plus.
  • Knowledge of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques with proven success in generating significant commitments from corporations, foundations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. The person in this role must have the ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professional in all circumstances
  • Bachelor's degree, and a minimum 3-5 years experience. Preference will be given to candidates with corporate and/or foundation experience- particularly in the nonprofit community.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Strong proficiency in project management with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with fundraising software- Raiser's Edge experience a plus.

Moving Day DC Manager

The Moving Day Manager is responsible for the implementation of the mission through programs, fundraising events, and volunteer development. The person in this role will cultivate partnerships and alliances that will promote growth and awareness within the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement and monitor an annual budget and work plan, including fundraising, public education programs, support services, leadership development and volunteer development.
  • Create and implement strategies to meet fundraising goals through the Moving Day walk program and other events as assigned.
  • Oversee all logistics and volunteer management for Moving Day event(s).
  • Recruit volunteer leaders and committee members to assist in implementing the fundraising work plan.
  • Serve as a consultant and resource to volunteers. Provide professional leadership in planning and implementing their tasks and/or responsibilities.
  • Assure appropriate utilization of volunteer skills and resources and provide guidance in carrying out assignments and recognition for their time and effort.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and files for fundraising events, programs and activities and routinely review the status of each with your supervisor.
  • Direct the cultivation, solicitation, follow-up and recognition process for individual, corporate and foundation participation and donations related to Moving Day and other events as assigned.
  • Coordinate all collateral materials related to fundraising events, programs and activities.
  • Coordinate community based public education programs and attend local support group meetings.
  • Coordinate public relations and promotion for fundraising events, programs and activities.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks required to support all new and/or proposed fundraising events, programs and activities.
  • Actively seek opportunities to address community needs and positively impact local community while advancing the mission, goals and values.
  • Keep abreast of National Office activities and properly utilize the resources available.
  • Be knowledgeable about Parkinson's disease and the Foundation's strategic plan and operations.
  • Assure the proper use, management, security and upkeep of the facilities, equipment and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Five to seven years in not-for-profit fundraising, preferably within a health-related organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising experience that includes special events, corporate/foundation giving, donor cultivation and recognition, donor records and acknowledgement.
  • Proven and applicable skills in strategic planning and budgeting and volunteer development .
  • Self-motivated, results oriented leader with strong organizational skills.
  • An effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in MS Office- Raiser's Edge and Convio a plus

National Manager Signature Events

The role of the National Manager Signature Events is to work in conjunction with local chapters for which NPF has established a branded signature walk event to raise funds and awareness to further the organization's mission. The Manager of Signature Events will execute this event in coordination with NPF senior leaders as well as local chapter leaders. This position reports to the National Director Signature events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with NPF Chapter Staff and volunteer leaders to implement NPF signature walk events.
  • Ensure chapters establish and implement best practices, organize event logistics, recruit participants and volunteers and generate local awareness of events
  • Provide training and support to NPF Chapters in corporate walk development, corporate sponsorship and corporate and friends and family team development
  • Work with the NPF Chapters to develop and manage event budgets and provide post-event analysis
  • Work with NPF senior management to secure national corporate partners for signature events and help chapters secure local corporate and media sponsors
  • Implement a national marketing campaign to promote the walk event and drive participation
  • Work with Finance Department, Communications Director, Web Editor, Chapter Services Technology Manager and outside vendors to implement and improve online fundraising platform to support chapter walk events
  • Create content for walk web pages and other walk communications tools

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in nonprofit management, communications, marketing or related field.
  • Minimum (5) years experience with a national nonprofit walk program, including successful career track with a national voluntary health organization with chapters.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong customer service and presentation skills required.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with the Microsoft Software Suite and web-based media, required.
  • Familiarity with donor/customer database and online fundraising tools, preferably Convio and Raiser's Edge or similar customer relationship database, is strongly desired.
  • Overnight travel to NPF Chapters, Trainings and conferences (estimated at 40%).
